Since we launched this site 10 days ago, we have been inundated with messages of support and completed surveys. But as Marc and Charlie told the club’s official website, the campaign has only just begun.
If you have not yet completed it, please complete the survey here to add yourself to the volunteer list.
Initially we have some specific jobs that need to be done in the short term, especially centred around the Wimbledon area itself.
So if you are able to help with any of the following tasks, please let us know via email:
1) Handing out pledge cards and encouraging fans to get involved with spreading the word before the Mansfield game this Saturday.
2) Evenings or weekends handing out pledge cards to shoppers and locals outside Wimbledon station.
3) Taking packs of cards, dispensers and posters around business and community groups in SW19. We especially want to hear from people who either work at local business, belong to local organisations or know friends who do.
If you can help with any (or all!) of these tasks, please email us adding the number of which tasks you’re interested into the subject heading so we can follow up with you.
And if you are not able to help right now or live further afield, do not despair! We can all help by sending more people to this website and getting more completed surveys. The club needs as much data as they can in support of their meeting with the planning inspector in January 2014. The more surveys we have completed by Wimbledon residents the more pressure the club can put on councillors to give their constituents what they want.
Surveys from further afield are useful, but it is a clear message that it’s not just WImbledon fans that want the Dons home but all people in and around SW19. That will be the biggest boost to the planning application. So whether it’s by email or in person, we can all try to reach as many people as we can.
